Teens dance to help special-needs students

The Best Buddies clubs from San Clemente, Dana Hills and Tesoro high schools and the Boys & Girls Club of the South Coast Area joined the San Clemente High School dance team and dancers from Regional Occupational Program and International Baccalaureate classes for a Dance-a-Thon fundraiser Saturday at La Plaza Park in Dana Point.

There also was a farmers market and craft fair including items made by members of the Best Buddies clubs, which pair students with developmental disabilities with nondisabled students for school and community activities.

Part of the proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward air conditioning in a room at San Clemente High where many special-needs students have dance-therapy classes.
