Santa Ana High singers are planning NYC trip
By RON GONZALES

SANTA ANA – Santa Ana High School's Chamber Singers are raising funds to travel to New York for an April 7 concert – the WorldStrides Heritage Performance - at Carnegie Hall.

The singers were offered the trip as a result of a gold rating that they and the vocal jazz group neared two years ago at the Heritage Festival in New York City.

The 23-member group will perform in the National Youth Choir of about 100 singers from four schools selected in a national competition.

The cost of the six-day trip is $60,000, about a fifth has been raised, through such efforts as car washes and choir performances at parties.

Contributions can be sent to Santa Ana Music Boosters Foundation, PO Box 4085, Santa Ana, CA 92702. For information, contact choir director Kathy Cobb-Woll at Kathryn.Cobbwoll@sausd.us.
